SQL Server 2016 - New Features

Tilahun Endihnew, Senior Systems Engineer GEICO

SQL Server 2016 has been released on May 2015 for public preview. Like any new software, this version of SQL Server has new and enhanced features which help database professionals to manage, use and support database systems in a better way. This version is a huge leap forward in Microsoft's data platform history. These new features provide capabilities to perform real-time operational analytics, provide for hybrid cloud scenarios, and advanced security technologies. This session goes through five of SQL Server's new features and covers their use cases: Stretch database, Query Store, Live Query Statistics, Tempdb enhancements, and AlwaysOn enhancements.

I have been working from logical and physical database design to planning, designing and implementing high-availability and disaster-recovery solutions to medium to very large database systems.
